Tesla Model S and Model X Production Officially Ends

Tesla Model S and Model X Production Officially Ends

Tesla has officially ended 14 years of Model S and 11 years of Model X production. Here are the details about the new era of Tesla, which focuses on the autonomous future.

Tesla has officially stopped the production of its iconic models Model S and Model X, which have been in the automobile world for a long time. With the last vehicles leaving the Fremont factory, the 14-year production adventure of the Model S and the 11-year production adventure of the Model X came to an end.

The company announced this decision at the earnings meeting held last January. In his statement at the time, Elon Musk stated that ending the production of these models was part of the transition to an autonomous future.

The End of an Era and a New Strategy

Tesla held a special farewell process for the last vehicles coming off the production line. It was seen that the signatures of the workers working in the factory were especially seen on the panels of the latest Model S.

In the final stage of the production process, the specially equipped “Signature Series” S and X Plaid models, offered only to invited VIP customers, rolled off the line. This special series was recorded as the last representatives of the high-performance models in the production line.

This move by Tesla represents a new era in which the company moves away from its identity as a luxury car manufacturer and focuses on autonomous technologies and automation. The company is now more than just an automobile manufacturer, it is now integrated with Elon Musk’s other projects.

In particular, the Terafab chip production project makes the bond between Tesla and other Musk companies stronger than ever. Goals such as sending Optimus robots to Mars show that the company will take an active role in areas other than automotive.

Transition from Automotive to Autonomous Future

Model S and Model X played a critical role in bringing Tesla to its current position. However, company management argues that these models no longer coincide with strategic goals.

Tesla’s focus is now shifting to fully autonomous systems and expanding corporate projects rather than traditional vehicle production. This change is interpreted as the end of a luxury and performance-oriented era in the automobile world.

This radical transformation of the company brings about different discussions among automobile enthusiasts. What do you think about this new vision of Tesla and the farewell of classic models?
