Anthropic announced the new Claude Tag feature that works like a group member on Slack. Here are the new capabilities coming with the Opus 4.8 model.
Anthropic announced its new feature, Claude Tag, which turns artificial intelligence from an easy assistant into a full-time colleague. This feature, which is currently only available via Slack, functions as a group member in writing code and solving support requests.
The Anthropic work group has already transferred 65 percent of the codes they wrote to their internal Claude. This new generation colleague is now available in beta for Claude Enterprise and Team customers.
How does the in-band workflow change with Claude Tag?
When tagging @Claude in any Slack channel, the system responds to the entire team, not a single individual. When a group member leaves the chat unfinished, another user can continue connecting with Claude from where they left off.
Claude Tag understands what is said on the channel, establishes the context and learns the operation over time. In this way, users are eliminated from having to start over or explain the details again each time.
The system doesn’t stay silent when things get quiet or it detects a forgotten task. Claude Tag can proactively intervene and provide updates to users.
After delegating a task to Claude, users can focus on their own priorities. The system works autonomously in the background for hours or days and notifies the user when the job is completed.
Technical infrastructure and access details
The new feature works with Anthropic’s Opus 4.8. This model has the capacity to manage complex tasks autonomously.
Claude Tag currently offers a special experience only to corporate customers. Claude Enterprise and Team subscribers can start using these new capabilities via the beta version.
