AMD’s new generation upgrade technology, FSR 4.1, has begun to offer significant performance increases, especially for old generation graphics card users. The supplement, released two days ago for the Radeon RX 7000 series, produces remarkable results in games.

Although FSR 4 technology has higher system requirements compared to FSR 3.1, it promises better visual quality even in Balanced settings. Current tests shared on Reddit reveal the direct impact of this technology on game performance.

High FPS values ​​at 4K resolution with Radeon RX 7900 XTX

According to user data, the flagship Radeon RX 7900 XTX with RDNA 3 architecture remains at 24 FPS at local resolution at RT Ultra settings in the Cyberpunk 2077 game. With the introduction of FSR 4.1 technology, performance almost doubles at the same settings, reaching an average of 50 FPS.

These results obtained in Balanced mode make the gaming experience smoother without compromising the visual quality. When switched to Performance mode, the graphics card manages to exceed the 60 FPS limit in 4K RT Ultra settings.

In the tests performed in Quality mode, it is stated that the game runs above 40 FPS. These values ​​indicate a significant increase compared to the performance at local resolution.

Special models for different architectures

The Radeon RX 7900 XTX and other RDNA 3-based graphics cards use a different FSR 4.1 model than the RX 9000 series. While the RX 7000 series supports the INT8 model, the RX 9000 series benefits from an FP8-based structure.

AMD states that despite the difference in the model used, similar visual fidelity will be offered in both series. This technical difference between hardware architectures allows FSR 4.1 to be optimized across a wide range of areas.
