WhatsApp Plus paid subscription plan announced. Details about the package, which offers 20 chat pins, custom themes, and advanced features for $2.50 per month.
WhatsApp has started testing a new paid subscription model called “WhatsApp Plus” for its users on the Android platform worldwide. With this move, the popular messaging application aims to offer special customization options and advanced tools to users who want to go beyond standard features. Priced at approximately $2.50 per month, this optional service allows users to gain additional benefits without disrupting the core messaging experience. This development, which emerged in beta versions, is considered as part of the platform’s strategy to diversify its revenue model.
Personalization Options Increase with WhatsApp Plus
WhatsApp Plus allows users to shape the application experience completely according to themselves. Subscribers can change the application theme with 18 different color options and choose from 14 different application icons. Additionally, special animated stickers covering the screen and the ability to pin up to 20 chats to the top of the list are among the notable features of this package.
WhatsApp Plus subscription will remain a completely optional service and basic messaging features will be offered free of charge.
New Features Are Being Developed for Android and iOS
WhatsApp is not only limited to paid subscriptions, but also continues to develop the interface for all users. Notification bubbles developed for Android 11 and above versions allow users to message without leaving other applications. Thanks to this feature, incoming messages appear as a floating icon on the screen, allowing users to access the chat without interrupting their current activities.
On the iOS side, special summaries supported by artificial intelligence are being worked on. This feature, which appeared with the WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.15.10.71 update, offers a collective summary of users’ unread messages. Message contents are processed securely on the device and transferred to the user in order to protect privacy.
The Process of Blocking Business Messages Becomes Easier
The platform makes it more practical to stop marketing messages from business accounts. Now, users will be able to stop a business’s campaign announcements with a single click, directly from the chat screen. This update allows users to get rid of unwanted notifications and makes interaction with businesses more controlled.
Thanks to the new sticker creation menu, users can turn images into custom stickers in seconds.
Status Update Sharing Starts on Channels
WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow channel managers to communicate more dynamically with their followers. Channel admins will now be able to share status updates directly via the channel interface. These posts will be automatically deleted after 24 hours, so instant announcements can be made instead of permanent messages.
