12-Month Committed Subscription Period Begins in App Store

12-Month Committed Subscription Period Begins in App Store

Apple is launching a 12-month committed monthly subscription period on the App Store. Those who are curious about the new features and details are in our news.

Apple officially announced its new system on the App Store, which allows developers to offer 12-month committed subscriptions with monthly payment options. This feature, which was first hinted at in iOS 26.5 beta versions, allows developers to split annual membership plans into smaller and more manageable monthly payments, while also obtaining an annual loyalty commitment from users.

This model, which will be available worldwide with the iOS 26.5 update next month, will help users track their subscription processes transparently.

  • Developers will be able to offer annual subscriptions to their users by dividing them into monthly installments.
  • The system requires users to complete their promised payments even if they cancel their subscriptions.
  • The new feature will be active all over the world except the United States and Singapore in its initial phase.

Users will be able to instantly track the number of remaining payments through their Apple accounts.

App Store Commitment System Opens to Developers

Apple confirmed that the subscription model in question has started to be tested on App Store Connect and Xcode for developers. Developers can already make the necessary preparations to make their applications compatible with this new model.

However, the distribution of iOS 26.5 must be waited for the feature to be available to end users.

Transparency will be increased by supporting the subscription process with user-friendly notifications and e-mails.

Although the new subscription structure aims for global expansion, according to Apple’s official statement, the United States and Singapore markets are excluded from this application.

The company has not yet shared clear information about the reason for the restriction on these two regions or when the feature will arrive. It is eagerly awaited whether there will be an official statement from Apple regarding the issue.

While Apple aims to make it easier for users to fulfill their commitments, the cancellation mechanism of the system is designed to prevent the automatic renewal of the subscription in the next period.

In this way, users will be able to terminate their subscriptions without any problems when their promised payments are completed.
