Apple is continuing its work on the foldable iPhone model, and the device is expected to be released under the name iPhone Ultra. This phone, predicted to come with a price tag of approximately $2000, is already generating great interest in the technology world.

The repair costs are as noteworthy as the technical details of the device. The figures that have emerged, especially regarding screen replacement, are quite concerning for users.

High Screen Repair Costs

iCorrect, which provides repair services for Apple devices, predicts that the internal screen replacement of the new foldable model will exceed $1000. According to the service provider’s estimates, this process will cost approximately $1155.

When we compare this figure with current market conditions, the screen repair cost of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 model remains at approximately $772. This difference appears to be directly related to Apple’s cutting, supply, and repair strategy.

Although Apple sources its screen panels from Samsung Display, it follows a higher pricing policy for repair processes. While Samsung keeps costs more accessible by using parts from its own unit, Apple’s situation is somewhat more complex.

The screen panels that Apple will use in its foldable device will be combined with a special 3D-printed hinge system that has not yet been widely tested by technicians. This special design stands out as one of the key elements that increases the difficulty and cost of repair processes.

New Design and Introduction Details

The foldable iPhone model is expected to feature a Touch ID fingerprint reader integrated into the side button instead of Face ID. The repair company states that this sensor is another component, besides the screen, that is difficult to repair.

Users will not have to wait too long to access this new technology. Apple is preparing to unveil its new devices at a major product launch event on Wednesday, September 9th.

The event, to be held at Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, will begin at 8:00 PM Turkish time. The company officially confirmed the program by sending out invitations for the presentation, which it announced under the title “Brilliant, Amazing, and Exciting.”

This new move by Apple seems to be taking the competition in the foldable phone market to a different level. In particular, high repair costs will directly affect the long-term operating costs of the device.

Technology enthusiasts are closely following Apple’s new design approach and the features it offers. How foldable screen technology will be integrated into the Apple ecosystem will become clearer in the coming days.

The company’s high pricing strategy supports the premium positioning of the device. However, this situation may mark the beginning of a new era for users in terms of access to repair services.

The event to be held at Apple Park holds valuable clues about the brand’s future product strategy. These expectations about the foldable iPhone will give way to concrete information on the day of the launch.

How do you think Apple releasing a device with such high repair costs will affect user preferences?
