The Hisense A10 Ultra, which stands out with its detachable color secondary screen and E Ink main panel, has been launched in the Chinese market.
The Hisense A10 Ultra has been released in the Chinese market with an unusual design. The device stands out with its E Ink screen on the front and a removable color LCD panel that attaches to the back with magnets.
This innovative structure combines the low-power screen technology used in e-readers with a classic smartphone experience in the same body. The Hisense A10 Ultra offers a different alternative, especially in text and document-oriented usage scenarios.
E Ink and LCD screen together
The 6.13-inch main screen on the front of the device consists of an E Ink Carta 1300 panel offering a resolution of 1,648 x 824 pixels. This panel, with its 300 PPI pixel density, provides very low power consumption during text and document reading.
For nighttime use, the screen brightness and color tone can be adjusted in a total of 36 different levels. Offering high readability in direct sunlight, this panel is designed especially for users who read for long periods.
A 4.96-inch color LCD screen can be attached to the back of the phone using magnets. This screen comes into play when E Ink technology is insufficient, such as for animations, viewing images, or playing games.
When not needed, this second screen can be completely removed. The magnetic system that emerges when the screen is removed also allows the use of different charging accessories.
On the hardware side, the device features a Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-6690 processor. The model, which has a 4,000 mAh battery capacity, comes with 18W wired and 15W wireless charging support.
Technical Specifications and Pricing
On the camera side, there is a 48-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. Connectivity features such as NFC, Wi-Fi 6, and an infrared transmitter are also included in the device’s hardware.
Running on Android 16 operating system, the phone allows you to run standard applications thanks to Google Play Store support. Hisense launched the series in two different models: A10 Pro and A10 Ultra.
The A10 Pro model comes without a removable secondary screen, while the A10 Ultra comes with this screen. In the Chinese market, the A10 Pro is priced between 2,799 yuan and 3,499 yuan.
The price of the A10 Ultra model is set 400 yuan higher, just like the storage options. The A10 Ultra with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage is priced at 3,199 yuan, while the version with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs 3,899 yuan.
The company has not yet made a statement regarding whether this new series will be released in countries outside of China. Do you think a smartphone with a detachable secondary screen offers a practical solution for daily use?
