YouTube Music Interface is Changing

YouTube Music Interface is Changing

YouTube Music has updated its interface by moving the search feature to the bottom menu bar. The new arrangement is available on Android and iOS devices.

YouTube Music is going through a new arrangement in its interface following the Now Playing design change in April. The platform updates the user experience by moving the search feature to the main menu bar at the bottom of the application.

With this new update, the search button replaces the Explore tab that was previously located in the submenu. No changes are made to the other parts of the application, namely the Home Page, Samples and Library tabs.

New Search Experience and Interface Arrangement

search buttonIt is now permanently located in the bottom menu bar and aims to facilitate one-handed use. When users touch the magnifying glass icon, they can open the keyboard and start typing, while voice search and music search features are preserved in the same way.

By clicking on the Search tab, users can access content such as New Releases, Lists, Moods and genres, and Podcasts, which were previously available on the Explore page. This screen also includes a section containing recent searches and offers that may interest the user.

The upper right corner of the application now only hosts the profile menu and the activity and notification stream. Google has been testing this change for a long time, and the new arrangement is compatible with the general layout of other well-known music streaming services.

Update Access and Availability

The interface change in question is offered to users with versions 9.22 for iOS and 9.21 for Android. While it is stated that the update is widely available, users who do not see the change yet are recommended to force stop the YouTube Music application from the application information.

This new interface arrangement stands out as part of the platform’s efforts to provide a more practical navigation on portable devices.
