WhatsApp Tests Liquid Glass Design for Chat Interface

WhatsApp Tests Liquid Glass Design for Chat Interface

WhatsApp is renewing its popular chat interface in accordance with the Liquid Glass design language. Here are all the details about the new navigation and chat bar.

In order to improve the user experience on the iOS platform, WhatsApp has updated the chat interface of the popular messaging application to modern ones. Liquid GlassIt continues to work to make it fully compatible with the design language. This new update, which is currently under development, aims to provide a more modern, transparent visual structure with a high perception of depth, especially by completely redesigning the navigation bar and message writing area on the chat screen. With this innovation, WhatsApp aims to increase the visual consistency throughout the application and provide users with a more fluid interface experience.

  • WhatsApp continues to work to make its chat interface compatible with the modern Liquid Glass design language.
  • In the new design, the chat bar and navigation panel are reconstructed with translucent and layered depth effects.
  • The update is currently under development and is not yet available to beta users.
  • All interface components are gradually updated to ensure design consistency throughout the application.

Chat Bar Is Developed With Innovative Design

One of the most important changes WhatsApp is working on is the redesign of the chat bar. This area, which is in a fixed structure in the current version, is transformed into a floating element in line with Liquid Glass principles. This new structure will use a translucent material that dynamically reflects and refracts the contents behind it. In addition, the buttons that allow quick switching between messages are also updated in accordance with this new aesthetic approach.

WhatsApp is redesigning every aspect of the interface to give the chat screen a more modern and transparent appearance.

Navigation Bar Gains Transparency

The navigation bar at the top of the chat screen takes on a more minimalist structure as part of the Liquid Glass transition. The transparency and slight fading effects that will be applied in this section will allow users to see chat history or wallpapers more easily.
This change aims to achieve full harmony with the visual language already seen in other tabs of the application.

Performance Monitoring Process Continues

The spread of the Liquid Glass interface to all users is happening gradually, depending on WhatsApp’s monitoring of performance data. Currently, not all users have this modern design; Some users still see the classic interface. The company aims to deliver a complete experience for a stable release by optimizing both the chat bar and other components such as the voicemail player. Once the technical improvements in this process are completed, the new design will be available for general use.

The stable version of the new interface will be delivered to users once visual harmony between all components is achieved.

Development Process Progresses in Beta Tests

The Liquid Glass design continues to be gradually expanded for iOS users. The latest beta updates shared via TestFlight confirm that WhatsApp is not limiting this visual revolution only to the home screen, but also carries it to the chat experience at the center of the application. WhatsApp plans to make improvements by getting feedback from a limited number of beta users in the first stage to test the performance of this new interface.
