All the details about the innovations that will come with the macOS 27 version that Apple will introduce at WWDC 2026, Siri updates and the end of Intel support.
Apple will unveil new software platforms at the WWDC 2026 opening event to be held on Monday, June 8. The developer beta version for macOS 27, which is expected to be introduced at this event, is expected to be released immediately after, and the public beta process is expected to start in July.
The software update is planned to be available for all users in September. While macOS 26 version is known as Tahoe, the official name of macOS 27 has not been leaked yet.
Siri and Apple Intelligence Innovations
macOS 27 will come with a dedicated Siri app with conversation history. With this change, it is aimed for Siri to have a structure similar to platforms such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.
The system will also include personalized Siri features that Apple previewed at WWDC 2024. Users will be able to ask Siri for details such as flight information or meal reservations, based on information received from Mail and Messages applications.
Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that they will offer a more personalized Siri experience to users this year. It is also stated that Google Gemini will continue to support Apple Intelligence features and this integration will go beyond Siri.
Touch Screen and Performance Focused Updates
Apple is reportedly working on touch interface optimizations for future touchscreen MacBook Pro or MacBook Ultra models.

These features include command menus that appear around the finger when the screen is touched and items in the menu bar enlarge to accommodate touch selection.
While these touch optimizations are expected to come with macOS 27, it is thought that the features may be kept secret until the device is released.
With macOS 27, Apple focuses on quality and basic performance improvements, just like the Mac OS X Snow Leopard version in 2009.
Many bug fixes and stability improvements are planned throughout the system. Additionally, Liquid Glass design improvements are expected to be included in the system with the update.
macOS 27 represents the end of an era for Intel-based Mac models. Apple announced that macOS Tahoe is the last major update for Macs with Intel processors.
Therefore, macOS 27 will only be compatible with Mac models with M1 and newer Apple silicon chips. Apple will continue to provide security updates for Intel-based devices for a while.
With the update, support for storage drives using AirPort Time Capsule or Apple Filing Protocol ends.
Time Capsule backups will now require drivers that support current file sharing protocols such as SMBv2 and SMBv3. How do you think these innovations that will come with macOS 27 will change the Mac experience?
