A fundamental change has recently been made in Tesla’s company structure in Türkiye. With the new announcement published in the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette, the activities of Tesla Motors Sales and Services Limited Company have been significantly expanded.

With the change, Tesla will not be limited to electric car sales and services in Türkiye. The company is preparing to expand its operational scope with new areas.

The focus at the establishment was solely on automobiles

In the announcement of the establishment of Tesla Turkey, the company’s main field of activity was concluded with the operations of Tesla branded electric vehicles and their modules, accessories and services in Turkey. In the founding text, the company’s field of activity was defined as the import, distribution, sale and trade of Tesla electric vehicles and related modules, accessories and services.

However, with the latest change published in the Trade Registry Gazette, the company’s field of activity has been significantly expanded. This expansion shows that the company’s strategic aims in the Turkish market have changed.

Now the barter system is coming

The first element that attracted attention in the new text was the expressions regarding second-hand vehicle processes and exchange activities. Areas such as buying and selling vehicles, second-hand vehicle processes, expertise services and exchange activities were included in the scope of the company’s purpose and scope.

This situation is similar to what Tesla has implemented in many countries. Trade-InIt paves the way for the system to be put into operation in Türkiye. Tesla trade-in system is a procedure that allows users to give their current vehicles directly to Tesla and use the cost of these vehicles as a down payment or discount on the purchase of a new Tesla model.

However, adding this authority to the field of activity does not mean that the implementation will begin in a short time. Currently, Tesla Türkiye has prepared the necessary legal place to provide such a service.

On the other hand, Tesla Türkiye has been trying to bring the barter system to Türkiye for a long time. In the information shared in 2024, it was stated that Tesla Türkiye’s Operations Manager Emir Tunçyürek stated that they were working on this issue.

Energy and humanoid robots have also entered the business arena

Another important topic added to the field of activity was power analyses. In the new text, the import, sale, distribution, supply and service of solar panels, solar power systems, power storage systems, generator systems and related equipment are clearly defined.

As it is known, Tesla does not operate only as a car manufacturer on a global scale. The company also develops products such as Solar Roof, solar panel solutions, Powerwall residential power storage systems and Megapack grid-scale battery solutions.

Another innovation was related to robotic systems. In the new text published in the Trade Registry Gazette, import, export, distribution, sales, maintenance and service of robotic systems and humanoid robotic systems were added to the company’s field of activity.

However, it should be emphasized at this point that there is no official sales plan or calendar. Expanding the field of activity does not mean direct product launch.
