The End of the Road Appears for Porsche Taycan: Here’s the Date

It is argued that Porsche will discontinue production of its fully electric model, the Taycan, by 2030. Here are the sales figures and details.

A striking theory has emerged regarding the all-electric sports car model Taycan from German car manufacturer Porsche. According to information shared by WirtschaftsWoche, the company plans to gradually phase out this electric model by 2030.

The Taycan, which entered the automotive world in 2019, was positioned as a valuable module of the brand’s electric transformation strategy. However, the vehicle’s sales performance falling below expectations has brought about discussions about the model’s future.

Significant Drop in Sales Figures

Since its launch, the Taycan has shown a fluctuating graph in terms of sales data. The model managed to achieve its highest sales success in 2023 with 40,960 units sold.

However, following this success, a significant drop in sales figures was observed. By 2025, the number of vehicle sales had fallen to 16,339.

The downward trend continued in 2026, and only 6,219 units were sold in the first half of the year. This indicates that the overall level of interest in the vehicle in the market has deviated from the company’s goals.

Production Process Disruptions

This decrease in sales figures directly affected the production processes. It is stated that the production of the Taycan was stopped many times in the past due to low demand.

There has been no official confirmation of these claims from Porsche. Nevertheless, the opinion that the model is not among the brand’s long-term future plans is gaining traction in the sector.

Porsche’s move into the electric car market offers valuable insights into the brand’s future strategies. How do you evaluate these developments in the automotive world and the future of the Porsche Taycan?
