Ferrari has added another special car to its lineup of production models. Developed under the brand’s Special Projects program, the Ferrari CZ26 was designed at the request of a US customer and is the only one of its kind in the world.

Using the technical infrastructure of the SF90 Stradale, the CZ26 is a much more comprehensive project than simply adding a few visual touches to an existing Ferrari. Designed by Ferrari Design Studio under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, the car’s body and interior were completely redesigned. The process from the conceptual stage to completion took approximately two years.

Ferrari CZ26 uses the SF90 Stradale infrastructure

Beneath the completely different-looking body of the CZ26 lies a familiar technical infrastructure. Ferrari has retained the plug-in hybrid system from the SF90 Stradale in the car. The 3,990 cc twin-turbo V8 engine alone produces 797 hp and 804 Nm of torque. With the inclusion of three electric motors, the total power reaches 1,000 hp.

Power transfer is via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The CZ26 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, while its top speed is stated as 328 km/h.

Thanks to the 7.9 kWh battery, which is the module of the plug-in hybrid system, the car can also move on electric power alone. The fully electric driving range is 25 kilometers.

Its design bears traces of the 1970s

The main point that distinguishes the CZ26 from the SF90 Stradale is its design. Ferrari drew inspiration from the Italian industrial design sensibilities of the 1970s in the car’s design.

A different silhouette with two boxes was preferred in the body, which is dominated by horizontal lines. In the front, rather thin lights, brake cooling ducts and various sensors are placed within the black area that extends the width of the car.
At the rear, a short and sharp design is preferred. Thin taillights, a large diffuser and a redesigned spoiler make the CZ26 quickly distinguishable from the SF90.

Ferrari engineers did not limit the changes to just the appearance. Due to the new body, the cooling system and the airflow under the car were also redesigned. Special air ducts are used to increase downforce on the front axle, while the rear spoiler and diffuser have also been improved according to the new aerodynamic structure.

The interior was also custom-made for the customer

The personalization efforts of the Ferrari CZ26 continue in the cabin. Black technical fabric, carbon fiber modules, and red details are used in the interior.

The seats feature special parts prepared with a layered production procedure

, while metallic filaments are used on the carbon fiber surfaces. The CZ26 logo also finds its place in various points of the cabin.

body color of the car is complemented by Rosso Lampante red details.

Only one Ferrari CZ26 was produced

What makes the CZ26 truly special is its production number. The car is not just a random cut from a limited-production Ferrari series.

There is only one CZ26, developed exclusively for the American customer who ordered it.

Ferrari’s Special Projects program allows the brand’s discerning customers to develop entirely bespoke cars based on existing technical platforms. In these projects, Ferrari’s design and engineering teams work together with the customer, and the resulting car is produced as a unique Ferrari.

The owner of the CZ26 has not been revealed, nor has the price paid for the car been shared. However, considering the approximately two-year development process, its completely redesigned body, and the fact that only one unit was produced, the CZ26 is positioned in a very different place than a standard SF90 Stradale.

So, what do you think of the Ferrari CZ26’s design? Do you think the CZ26 or the SF90 Stradale, which forms the basis of the car, looks more suitable?

The Ferrari CZ26 has been introduced. Only one of this special 1,000 hp Ferrari, which uses the SF90 Stradale platform, has been produced in the world. Ferrari, Car, Unique, Design, Only
