Tesla Robotaxi Application Released for Android

Tesla Robotaxi Application Released for Android

Tesla has made its Robotaxi application available for Android. Now hundreds of millions of Android users will have easy access to autonomous taxi service.

Tesla expanded its service network by launching the autonomous driving service Tesla Robotaxi application for the Android platform. This technology, which was previously only available to iOS users, is now available to hundreds of millions of Android users.

The service, which is actively used in various cities in the United States as of today, allows users to easily call a driverless vehicle via their smartphones. This strategic step stands out as an important expansion move taken by Tesla towards achieving its autonomous transformation goals in the transportation sector.

  • Tesla Robotaxi application is now supported on smartphones with Android operating system.
  • Users can determine routes, call a car and make payments through the application.
  • Tesla has started mass production of fully autonomous Cybercab vehicles, which do not have a steering wheel or pedals.

Tesla’s Android move significantly increases access to autonomous taxi service globally.

Users Provide Full Control Inside the Vehicle

The new application allows users to log in to the system through their Tesla accounts. Users who select the destination on the map can see the estimated arrival time and travel cost in advance. Once the vehicle is summoned, the customer gets into the vehicle and can start the journey via the app or the in-car display.

During the journey, in-cabin comfort settings are completely under user control. Air conditioning temperature, seat positions and multimedia systems can be managed in real time via the mobile application. Additionally, passengers can update their destination while traveling or contact support in case of emergency. When the trip is completed, a score can be made regarding the service quality.

Autonomous Fleet Capacity Is Constantly Increasing

Tesla is growing aggressively not only on the software side but also on the hardware side. The company has officially started mass production of two-person Cybercab models, which are completely driverless and do not contain steering wheels or pedals. These vehicles are reportedly able to move on their own, from production facilities to parking areas, without any human intervention.

The transition of autonomous technologies to mass production is radically changing urban transportation standards.

It is expected that driverless transportation technologies will become widespread in more cities in the coming period and the user experience will be further personalized. Tesla aims to constantly increase the security and efficiency of this service it offers with software updates.
