A significant development has occurred in Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised expansion plans in Europe. The company announced that the Czech Republic has also approved the FSD Supervised system. This brings the number of countries in Europe that have approved FSD to seven.

In a post on Tesla Europe’s X account, it was stated, “FSD Supervised is now approved in the Czech Republic. Rollout will begin soon.” However, at the time of publication, the Czech Ministry of Transport had not yet made an official statement.

They said the exact opposite three months ago

What makes this development noteworthy is that the Czech Republic had taken a completely different stance a few months ago.

In June, the Czech Ministry of Transport announced that they would not approve FSD at the national level without a common decision across the European Union. The ministry also shared the view that Tesla’s system could be misunderstood by drivers, that the issue of liability was unclear, and that additional safety assessments were needed.

Following Tesla’s announcement, all eyes are now on the official confirmation from the ministry.

FSD network is growing in Europe

If the Czech Republic officially joins the process, Tesla’s FSD Supervised system will be available in the following countries:

• Netherlands
• Lithuania
• Estonia
• Denmark
• Belgium
• Slovenia
• Czech Republic (official confirmation pending)

Tesla continues to obtain national approvals country by country in Europe. The company works differently with each country’s regulatory bodies in this process.

What is the situation of FSD in Turkey?

Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system is not yet available in Turkey.

The main reason for this is that FSD is not a feature that can be activated simply with a software update. For the system to be used, the necessary permissions must be granted under the relevant country’s traffic regulations, vehicle type approval, and driving assistance system regulations.

Since Turkey largely follows the European Union type approval system, regulatory developments in Europe are also important for Turkey. However, so far, no official approval or timeline has been announced for the use of FSD Supervised in Türkiye.

Nevertheless, the increasing number of countries in Europe that have received approval is considered a positive signal for Tesla to potentially initiate a similar application process in Turkey in the future. There is still no official date for when FSD will be operational in Turkey.
