Take-Two officially announced that they are working on 6 new remakes, remasters and platform expansions for the period after the GTA 6 release.
Take-Two Interactive, the umbrella company of giant studios such as Rockstar Games, 2K and Gearbox, announced its new road map that excites the gaming world.
Although everyone’s eyes and ears are on Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6), which is certain to be released on November 19, 2026, the company’s future plans are not limited to this huge production.
At the recent May earnings report meeting, Take-Two shared a huge range of games with investors covering the 2028 and 2029 fiscal years.
According to these statements, the company is not only developing brand new projects, but also preparing to re-present its beloved classics to players with 6 new remakes, remasters and platform expansions.
Take-Two’s Future Plans: 22 New Games Coming
During May 2026 interest report calls, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick detailed the company’s tremendous growth prospects and future projects.
Drawing a very successful chart in its financial statements, the company announced that it closed the 2026 fiscal year with a revenue of 6.72 billion dollars and that it expects an income of up to 8.2 billion dollars for the next year with the wind of GTA 6.
However, the real surprise in Zelnick’s statements was that the company stated that it would launch a total of 22 different games in the 2028 and 2029 fiscal years.
Take-Two aims to dominate all gaming platforms with this huge production line.
What Games Are Awaiting Us?
There is a fairly diverse distribution in the planned 22-game list.
The company is planning 1 portable game and 5 new sports games (new versions of series such as NBA, PGA and WWE).
However, the part that really excites the players is the list that the company calls Main Intellectual Properties.
Take-Two states that it has developed 3 completely new series (including Judas and Project ETHOS from the creator of BioShock) and 7 new sequels as a continuation of its existing brands.
In addition, 6 remakes, remasters and platform expansions that will blow the winds of nostalgia are also included in this packed calendar.
What Could Be in the Remake and Remaster List?
Although the company has not yet officially announced the names of these 6 nostalgic games, leaks and expectations in the gaming world paint a very clear picture.
First of all, the concept of “platform expansion” in the report means moving an existing game to a different and new platform.
This is interpreted as GTA 6, which will be released on consoles, finally coming to the PC platform in the future. At the same time, there is a strong possibility that well-known productions such as Borderlands 4 or Grand Theft Auto 5 will be transferred to the expected new generation Nintendo Switch 2 console.
However, the real great expectation lies in the renewed versions of the beloved classics. Red Dead Redemption 2’s next generation version with 60 fps support for modern hardware is one of the most requested projects by fans.
On the other hand, the fact that Rockstar Games has recently been recruiting in the field of “classic game technologies” and is working with Remedy Entertainment on the production of Max Payne 1 and 2 increases the possibility of Max Payne 3 appearing with a modern remaster version.
In addition, following the great interest in the first game of the Mafia series by Hangar 13, a comprehensive remake for Mafia 2 or the transfer of the legendary Grand Theft Auto 4 to modern consoles are other scenarios on the table.
All these huge plans clearly prove that Take-Two wants to remain unrivaled in the gaming market in the post-GTA 6 era.
