Samsung is drawing attention in the technology world with its new decision for its affordable models, the Galaxy A07s and Galaxy A08. The company is starting a new era by completely removing the USB-C cable from the retail boxes of these devices.

The trend of reducing box contents, which has been widespread among smartphone manufacturers for a long time, has now begun to be reflected in entry-level devices as well. Users will now have to obtain an external charging cable and adapter to use these newly purchased phones for the first time.

A New Era in Box Contents

Unboxing footage of the Galaxy A08 shared by YouTuber Izzi Boye clearly demonstrates this change. The box contains only the phone itself, a quick start guide, and a SIM card ejector tool.

Samsung had previously started removing the charging adapter from the boxes with the Galaxy S21 series. However, at that time, the USB-C cable continued to be offered to users, especially in affordable models.

The Galaxy A07s and Galaxy A08 models are recorded as the first affordable Galaxy devices without both the adapter and the cable. This situation directly affects the total cost of the device.

Galaxy A08 and A07s Specifications

Positioned in the entry-level segment in 2026, the Galaxy A08 comes with a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD screen. The device features a large 6,000 mAh battery and 25W wired charging support.

On the hardware side, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99+ processor and uses LPDDR5X RAM technology. The basic version with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage is priced at approximately $115.

The higher-end model with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage is priced at approximately $135. Offering water and dust resistance with its IP64 certification, the device boasts quite impressive technical specifications for an entry-level device.

The Galaxy A07s model was released to markets on September 7th. This device, an updated version of the standard Galaxy A07 model, comes with Android 16 operating system out of the box.

Interestingly, the standard Galaxy A07 model is still sold with a USB-C cable in the box. This situation proves that Samsung’s box contents policy differs for its entry-level models.

Whether the company will apply this controversial decision to other entry-level models in the future remains uncertain. This development regarding Samsung’s strategy of reducing box contents is causing different interpretations among users.
