Redmi K100 Series is Switching to a New Naming

Redmi K100 Series is Switching to a New Naming

It is claimed that the Pro Max model expected in the Redmi K100 series has been canceled and will be replaced by a new model with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor.

Redmi, known for its flagship killer models as a sub-brand of Xiaomi, is preparing to change its strategy with the K100 series. It is claimed that the Pro Max name, which was used for the first time in the Redmi K90 series introduced last year, will be replaced by another naming in the new generation devices.

According to information from reliable leak sources, the company canceled the Pro Max model, known as Q11U, during internal testing processes and continues with a new project codenamed “11X.”

This situation is interpreted as Redmi may return to the Ultra name in its top segment devices or create a completely new category.

Name Riddle in Redmi K100 Series

Redmi started a new naming in the flagship world by launching the K90 and K90 Pro Max models in October last year. In particular, the “Pro Max” tag was chosen to create a perception similar to the strategy used by Apple in its iPhone models.

However, the latest information shared by “Experience More”, which is well known in the leak world, shows that this naming scheme was short-lived. According to the shared screenshots, it appears that the “Q11U” (Pro Max) project prepared for the K100 series has come to an end and has been replaced by the “Q11X” project.

It is thought that the main reason behind this change is the brand’s desire to position its flagship identity in a more unique place.

The transfer of the Ultra model, which Xiaomi uses in its own series, to the Redmi K100 family is among the strongest possibilities at the center of the leaks. If these claims are true, the most powerful Redmi model we will meet at the end of the year is called “K100 Ultra”.

Codenames Are Changing: Q11U Is Gone, Q11X Is Arrived

In the technology world, code names help us understand which series a device is a continuation of. The K90 Pro Max model was developed with the code name “P11U”. Therefore, its successor was expected to be “Q11U”.

However, new leaks indicate that Redmi has completely updated this project and switched to the codename “Q11X”. This letter “X” in the project name proves that the device is not just a name change, but also radical innovations on the hardware side.

This move by Redmi is considered as a revision to get ahead in the intense competition in the flagship market. The company is abandoning the Pro Max name and turning to branding that puts more emphasis on the technical capabilities of the device.

This aims to create a “more advanced technology” perception in users.

2nm Revolution and HyperOS 3 on the Hardware Side

The Q11X model, which is expected to be the most powerful member of the Redmi K100 series, changes the rules of the game not only with its name but also with the power inside. Leaked reports indicate that the device is being tested with early-stage HyperOS 3 versions.

The most striking feature of this software is that it is optimized for 2nm architecture. This makes it almost certain that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, which has not been introduced yet, will be at the heart of the device.

The 2nm manufacturing process promises much higher energy efficiency and an incredible leap in performance compared to today’s 3nm processors.

This processor, which heats up less and consumes less power, combined with the artificial intelligence capabilities of HyperOS 3, makes the Redmi K100 series one of the most powerful phones of 2026. On the screen side, the device is expected to offer 2K resolution OLED panels and very high brightness values.

Poco F9 Ultra Era in the Global Market

The K series, prepared by Redmi for the Chinese market, traditionally appears under the Poco brand in the global market. If a new top segment model comes in the Redmi K100 series instead of Pro Max, this will directly affect the Poco side. Industry analysts predict that this new monster will be available worldwide under the name Poco F9 Ultra.

Although the Poco F series generally includes price-performance focused flagships, the brand is planned to appeal to a higher category with the addition of the “Ultra” tag.

In this way, Poco becomes a brand that offers not only affordable performance devices, but also premium devices with the highest level camera and display technologies. With the official announcements to be made in the coming months, the details of Redmi’s new naming strategy will become clearer.
