Nokia Asha Returns: HMD Certifies Its New Model

Nokia Asha Returns: HMD Certifies Its New Model

HMD Global brings back the Nokia Asha 305 model with 4G connectivity and modern features. All the details about the new HMD Asha 305 are in our news.

HMD Global is preparing to bring back Nokia’s budget-friendly Asha series, which was well known in the past. The certification record appearing on the company’s own website shows that the device with model number HMD TA-1779 will be released under the name HMD Asha 305.

When the original Nokia Asha 305 was released in July 2012, it stood out as a basic touchscreen phone running the S40 operating system. Despite its 3-inch screen, 2MP camera and limited hardware features, it reached a wide user base at the time with its affordable price and compact structure.

Modern Connection Options and Technical Details

The new HMD Asha 305 goes beyond a nostalgic design and is equipped with new technologies. The LTE modem support included in the certificate records confirms that the device will have 4G connection capacity.

The HMD Touch 4G model, which gives an idea about the technical infrastructure of the device, has features such as a 3.2-inch QVGA screen and Unisoc T127 chipset. Offering 64MB RAM and 128MB internal storage, this structure can be expanded with microSD card support.

The HMD Asha 305 model is expected to follow a similar formula. The phone will run on a lightweight operating system; It will include basic hardware such as a 2MP rear camera, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C port and a replaceable battery with a capacity of 1,950mAh.

Compact Design for Digital Detox

The new device, which is expected to weigh approximately 100 grams, aims to allow users to focus on basic connection needs by moving away from the chaos of smartphones. The phone, which is expected to be splash-proof with its IP52 certification, provides an alternative especially for those looking for a second device.

HMD Global managed to meet the demand in the market by updating classic models such as Nokia 3210 with 4G support. Asha 305’s progress in the certification process indicates that the official announcement of the device is not far away.

Do you think, in the busy world of smartphones, can such compact phones with basic features be sufficient for daily use?
