As part of its AI agents strategy, OpenAI has changed its management structure, appointing Greg Brockman as product lead.
OpenAI is restructuring its product development processes by making a new change in its operational structure. Company president Greg Brockman was named official leader of all product processes.
This move comes with OpenAI’s goal of focusing its strategy this year entirely on artificial intelligence agents. The company aims to bring ChatGPT and Codex platforms under one unified agent experience.
New Era in Management Structure
As stated in an internal memo, OpenAI is now embarking on a strategic shift to use its resources more efficiently. This process aims to focus on core revenue-generating areas, especially coding and enterprise solutions.
The company is under pressure to improve profitability ahead of its IPO, which is expected to take place later in the year. For this reason, it is planned to reduce projects outside the main areas of activity and shift resources to more strategic areas.
With Fidji Simo continuing on medical leave, Greg Brockman has become the official leader of product strategy and scaling for the company. Under Brockman’s direction, four main pillars were created.
Thibault Sottiaux was appointed head of the core product and platform unit. Nick Turley will lead the critical enterprise industries area.
The third pillar, which covers areas such as consumer-focused health, commerce and personal finance, is led by Ashley Alexander. The fourth pillar, core infrastructure, advertising, data science and growth units, is headed by Vijaye Raji.
Goal: Scaling Agent Technologies
In his note, Brockman emphasizes that OpenAI’s main goal is to move agent technologies to the ChatGPT scale. In this way, it is aimed to provide individuals and organizations with more value and benefit from the products.

With these organizational changes, the company aims to gain a stronger position in the competitive artificial intelligence agent market. The current structure continues to operate with arrangements announced last month, with Jason Kwon, Sarah Friar and Denise Dresser managing business operations.
