Intel’s New Generation Graphics Card GPU Revealed

Intel’s New Generation Graphics Card GPU Revealed

Crescent Island, Intel’s new information center GPU focusing on artificial intelligence inference, was displayed with 160GB LPDDR5X memory and Xe3P architecture.

Intel continues its preparations for its new data center-focused graphics processor, Crescent Island. The Xe3P architecture, which the company previously planned to use in consumer electronics, now finds its place in this new accelerator model.

Printed circuit board (PCB) images leaked by YuuKi_AnS reveal the first concrete details about Crescent Island’s technical design. This new hardware is aimed specifically at workstations and air-cooled information centers optimized for AI inference processes.

Xe3P Architecture and 160GB LPDDR5X Memory Structure

In the leaked images, a graphics processor dies that is quite larger than Intel’s current flagship Xe2-based BMG-G31 model stands out. There are 20 LPDDR5X memory slots on the card, offering a total capacity of 160GB; 12 of them are on the front side and 8 on the back side.

Intel prefers LPDDR5X memory to avoid the power supply burden created by HBM technology and to provide cost advantage. This strategy aims to provide a more efficient structure without sacrificing performance in inference workloads that require high memory capacity.

Hardware Design and Future Plans

The PCB design hosts 18 VRM positions, 13 of which appear to be occupied. While there is a 12V-2×6 power connector on the back of the card, a USB-C port that is claimed to be used for testing processes also attracts attention.

Intel has yet to make an official statement regarding exact clock speeds, power limits or pricing. What do you think about this new technology, where customer sampling is planned to start in the second half of 2026?
