Huawei has updated its health-focused smartwatch family with the new Huawei Watch D3 model, while officially announcing the FreeBuds Neo wireless earbuds. The Watch D3, capable of medical-level blood pressure measurement with a physical airbag on the wrist, stands out with its much thinner body and massive AMOLED screen reaching 3,000 nits of brightness compared to its predecessor. The simultaneously introduced FreeBuds Neo features high-resolution lossless audio transmission and adaptive noise cancellation capabilities.

Thinner Body, Brighter Screen: What Does the Huawei Watch D3 Offer?

Raising the bar in health technologies, Huawei makes valuable touches in both hardware and design in the new member of the Watch D series. Compared to its predecessor, the thinner aluminum body has a thickness of 11.3 mm and weighs 40 grams. The front of the device features a 1.92-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a resolution of 480 x 408 pixels. The peak brightness, which was 1,500 nits in the previous generation, has been increased to 3,000 nits with the Watch D3, providing perfect visibility even in direct sunlight.

The integrated airbag strap system, the watch’s most distinctive feature, has also been redesigned. The airbag, one millimeter smaller, inflates to perform medical-standard blood pressure measurements from the wrist. The Watch D3 goes beyond classic blood pressure measurement and gains a new tracking system that can analyze pre- and post-workout blood pressure changes. However, thanks to Huawei’s Health Glance feature, it provides a single report of 11 different critical health indicators, including heart rate, blood pressure, and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), in just 60 seconds.

Adopting Bluetooth 6.0 technology, one of the latest standards in connectivity, the watch promises up to 6 days of battery life with standard use thanks to its 540 mAh battery. Available in two different color options, Mocha Gold and Black, the European price of the model is set at £399.99.

Lossless Sound and Adaptive ANC: Huawei FreeBuds Neo

Another surprise of the event, the Huawei FreeBuds Neo joins the brand’s wireless headphone portfolio as a strong alternative. Capable of filtering ambient noise up to 30 dB with its dual-channel active noise cancellation (ANC) system, the headphones work with an adaptive algorithm that analyzes environmental sounds in milliseconds.

Powered by Huawei’s third-generation audio chip, the FreeBuds Neo supports 2.3 Mbps high-resolution lossless audio transmission and a maximum transfer speed of 990 kbps. Promising a cinematic acoustic experience with spatial audio enhancement, the model can seamlessly connect to Android, iOS, and Windows platforms.
