What features are included in the Tesla Summer Update?

The summer update, which Tesla users have been eagerly awaiting for a long time, has been released.

We also downloaded the 2026.26.1 version update to our 2024 Model Y Standard Range vehicle.

The most anticipated feature for Tesla owners was of course “Hey Grok” and it’s finally here! Now we can control our Tesla with voice commands via Grok.

With the new update, Grok can:

Initiate phone calls

Search for and play music

Adjust the climate

Trigger vehicle controls such as the glove compartment

Answer questions about your Tesla

Of course, the innovations are not limited to Grok. Other features highlighted in the Tesla summer update include:

Frequently Used Routes:
• Navigation now prioritizes routes you’ve previously used.

Smart/Automatic Navigation:

• It learns your daily routine and automatically suggests frequently visited places like school, work, and the gym.

Driving Statistics:

• Autonomous driving data can now be viewed and shared via the Tesla app.

Battery Level Adjustment:

• You can set the minimum battery percentage you want at your destination directly from your phone.

Custom Vehicle Liveries:

• You can upload your own livery designs to your vehicle via the Tesla app.

Rated Caraoke:

• Scores your singing performance while parked.

Rear Screen Lock:

• For families with children, the rear screen can be locked from the front screen.

Ease of Search:

• Supercharger stations can now be searched by name.

Apple Music Updates:

• Music can be added directly to the playlist from search results.

Driving Visualization:

• The zoom level of the autonomous driving screen can be adjusted.

Enhanced Web Browser:

• The internet browser now has camera and microphone support.

New Animations:

• Special startup animations have been added for the new Model 3 and Model Y.

“Hey Grok”

You can now talk to Grok, the smart assistant developed by xAI.

To launch Grok,

Go to App Launcher > Grok , long press the voice button on your steering wheel, or say “Hey Grok” . To hang up, simply say “goodbye”. You can choose Grok’s voice and personality from a wide range of styles, from Storyteller to Unhinged, or set him to Assistant mode to add and customize navigation tasks, make phone calls, play music, adjust the climate, and search the Control Panel. You can also ask Grok questions about your Tesla or what’s included in your latest software update. Additionally, you can set position-based reminders such as “Remind me to get milk when I’m near home.” To activate or deactivate the “Hey Grok” feature and position-based reminders, go to Controls > Settings

Requires Premium Connection or Wi-Fi. Conversations are anonymous to Tesla and are not associated with your vehicle. Scoring Caraoke Caraoke now makes singing along fun while parked.

Earn stars and track your high scores on the Karaoke stage. On the rear screen, tap the queue button to display a QR code where passengers can select music by scanning the microphones.

In 2024, Tesla added a Caraoke microphone to its store so that rear-seat passengers can more easily join in the fun. All Model Ys from 2024 and later have a microphone in the back.

Custom Skins

Upload custom skin designs from photos on your phone and use the mobile app to upload them directly to your Tesla.

Tap Created > Upload to My Tesla . The portable application version 4.35.0 or higher is required.

Automatic Navigation

Automatic navigation now adapts to your route.

You will be guided to a suitable lane selection on your route as you approach your destination. You’ll receive visual guidance at junctions and turns to help you get back into your actual lane. To activate, go to Controls > Navigation > Auto Navigation

. Location data is anonymous for Tesla and is not associated with your vehicle.

Camera Preview

Now in Camera Preview, you can select any camera you want, even if your Tesla is in Parking position.

To view the same details, click

Controls > Service > Camera Preview or tap any camera view to pause and set it to single or triple view only.

Apple Music

Apple Music interface has been updated. You can select music faster from search results and playlists, view song lyrics, and stream more smoothly.

To add the next content to the queue, tap and hold a song or tap the three-dot icon to navigate the interface or start playback.

Driving Visualization

Self-Driving visualization screen has been redesigned. Lane changes, surrounding vehicles, and road objects are displayed more accurately and in 3D. Self-Driving makes zooming easier. You can adjust these settings by moving two fingers closer together or further apart on the visualization, or from the Camera Zoom section in Controls > Driving Visualization

Web Browser

You can now use your Tesla’s interior camera and microphone in the Web Browser. Click the camera icon that appears on the web page to manage permissions.

Also, tab management, page loading speeds and touch response times have been improved.

Energy on Arrival Details

Directly set your desired Energy on Arrival for each trip. In the Location tab of the Tesla mobile app, tap the Power on Destination option, which is your destination data. Mobile app version 4.35.0 or higher is required.

Supercharger Search

You can now search for Superchargers by name when searching for a destination.

When searching for a charging station, you can find Superchargers much faster by name, location, or filtering options (power, proximity, etc.).

Security Improvements

This update includes important security fixes and improvements.
