Google Gemini Reaches 1 Billion Users

Google Gemini Reaches 1 Billion Users

Google’s AI application Gemini has achieved a significant success by reaching 1 billion monthly active users.

Google has achieved another significant milestone in the technology world, announcing that its Gemini application has reached 1 billion monthly active users. CEO Sundar Pichai stated in a statement on X that this achievement marks the 14th billion mark reached among Google products.

With this rapid growth momentum, Gemini continues to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT application, which reached the same level in June. The 1 billion user figure is specific to the Gemini application only and does not include AI users on other Google platforms.

Gemini app’s rise and usage data

Google continues to integrate the Gemini model into many different platforms, including Search, Workspace, and Android. In particular, the AI mode within Google Search has achieved remarkable success, reaching 1 billion monthly active users worldwide.

The company also shared data on how users interact with Gemini. 63% of users prefer to interact directly with the assistant via voice.

Visual creation also holds a significant place among Gemini’s capabilities. According to information shared by Google, more than 150 million visuals are generated daily through the application.

100 million users on the iOS platform

Gemini’s growth is not limited to the Google ecosystem. The company announced that the application has more than 100 million active users on the iOS platform.

This milestone came shortly after Google’s second-quarter 2026 earnings report. The report highlighted that the number of monthly users was approaching 950 million and that the number of daily active users had tripled compared to last year.

Google is preparing to announce new Gemini-based features for Pixel devices at the upcoming Made by Google event. The Gemini 3.5 Flash model continues to be developed with the goal of optimizing coding and autonomous AI missions. What do you think is the main reason for Gemini’s rapid growth?
