Full Support to the Automotive Sector from the Ministry of Commerce

The Ministry of Commerce announced that support will continue for the automotive sector, which broke a record with exports of 41.5 billion dollars.

The Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey announced that the automotive industry closed last year with the highest number of exports in the history of the Republic. Dal continues to defend its leading position in the Turkish economy with an export volume of 41.5 billion dollars.

The Ministry stated that the automotive industry quickly adapted to changes in the global supply chain. This success once again proves Türkiye’s quality as a global production base.

Export and production success in the automotive department

The Turkish automotive industry demonstrates significant success in market diversity with its exports to more than 190 countries and free regions. More than 70 percent of total exports are made to the European market, which has high standards.

This rise in the sector; It is based on strong cooperation between the main industry and the supply industry and digital transformation investments. In addition to domestic projects, global brands’ modernization of their production lines in Türkiye directly affects export numbers.

Türkiye ranks 12th in the world and 5th in Europe in motor vehicle production. In light commercial vehicle production, Türkiye ranks 9th in the world and 1st in Europe.

Future goals and technological transformation

The sector continues to work in line with the Green Deal harmonization processes and carbon neutral production goals. The automotive industry, which sets higher goals for 2026 and beyond, continues to gear up.

Turkey aims to be the biggest player in the region not only in internal combustion engines but also in battery technologies and software-oriented mobility solutions. The Ministry of Commerce emphasizes that it will support the industry with all its resources and support programs in order to achieve these goals.

Ranking 16th in the world and 11th in Europe in automotive exports, Türkiye is strengthening its place in global competition. How do you evaluate the growth momentum and future goals of the department?
