Dell announced its new XPS 13 laptop. Competing with MacBook Neo, the device attracts attention with its affordable price and premium features.
Dell renews its well-known laptop series, XPS 13, and offers it to users again. The company positions this new model as an affordable and premium Windows alternative to the MacBook Neo.
The device is the thinnest and lightest XPS 13 model Dell has ever produced, with a thickness of 12.7 mm and a load of 2.2 pounds. The new XPS 13 is available at a starting price of $599 for students and $699 for other users.
Hardware and Design Features
The new XPS 13 comes with remarkable features such as CNC aluminum case, 2.5K IPS screen, quad speaker system and Wi-Fi 7 support. The entry-level model for students includes an Intel Core Series 3 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while those looking for higher performance are offered an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor, up to 32GB RAM and 1TB storage options.
On the screen side, details such as the touch panel with 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage and fully backlit keyboard stand out. Unlike the MacBook Neo, the device, which uses a dual-fan structure for effective cooling, has two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports and a Windows Hello-supported webcam.
Sales Date and User Experience
While Dell did not include a 3.5 mm audio jack in its new design, it is not yet clear whether there will be a converter in the box. The device will be available to users in two different color options: storm and sky.

While the basic model is planned to be released in June, higher-equipped versions are expected to go on sale later in the summer.
Do you think Dell’s new pricing strategy will be enough to convince Windows users against the MacBook Neo?
