OpenAI introduced the Computer Use feature it developed for Codex to Windows users. Now you can manage your computer remotely with ChatGPT portable.
OpenAI has finally made the Computer Use feature, which it added to Codex’s Mac application in April, available to Windows users as well. Thanks to this new infrastructure, Codex can control computers with Windows operating system and execute the given commands using other applications installed on the device.
This feature allows users to manage processes on their computers directly via the ChatGPT portable application. Once the necessary pairing processes are completed, the tasks performed by Codex can be monitored remotely via iOS and Android devices.
PC Control Moves to Portable App
Using ChatGPT’s portable applications, users can start new tasks on the Codex on their computers or make the necessary guidance regarding ongoing processes. In order for this system to work effectively, the Codex application on the computer must always remain open.
In the statement made by OpenAI, it is emphasized that with the Windows support of this feature, users can control their workflows even on the go. It becomes possible to review and manage tasks via Codex even when not in front of the computer.
Remote Administration and Workflow
Codex’s ability to run processes directly on Windows computers helps users use the time they spend in front of the computer more efficiently. Commands given through the portable application work in integration with applications on the computer, allowing complex missions to be automated.
Especially for users who multitask, this integration offers the opportunity to monitor business processes via a portable device. The system strengthens the remote access experience by always establishing a data flow between the Codex on the computer and the portable application.
With this update coming to the Windows platform, OpenAI is one step closer to its goal of combining desktop and portable experience.
