Xiaomi 18 series is preparing to be introduced in September with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor. Here are the features and release date of the new series.
It is expected that the new generation Snapdragon 8 Elite chipsets will be introduced at the Snapdragon Summit event to be held by Qualcomm between 22-24 September. Manufacturers such as Xiaomi, vivo and Oppo are planned to announce their flagship models that will use these new processors within the same month.
According to the latest reports, Xiaomi is preparing to get ahead of its competitors in this race with its new series. It is stated that the Xiaomi 18 series will consist of three different models and will be released in September.
Technical Details of Xiaomi 18 Series
Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, the top model of the series, hosts two 200MP cameras, including a 1/1.28 inch LOFIC main sensor. The Xiaomi 18 Pro model, on the other hand, appears before users with a larger rear screen and a special privacy-oriented display technology. Xiaomi 18, the entry model of the series, draws attention with its 6.4 inch screen size and 7,200mAh capacity battery.
The new generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Elite Gen 6 Pro processors are produced with the 2nm production process. These chipsets use new generation Oryon CPU cores arranged in a 2+3+3 configuration. While the standard Elite model comes with Adreno 845 GPU and 12MB graphics memory, the Elite Pro model is equipped with Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB graphics memory.
Market Strategy and Exit Schedule
The approximately $300 cost of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor forces manufacturers to a different pricing strategy. Due to this high cost, the Elite Pro chip is preferred only in top segment devices such as Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.

Xiaomi 18 and 18 Pro models are launched with the standard Elite chipset.
Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models are aimed to be introduced in September and be the first phones to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series. The standard Xiaomi 18 model is expected to hit the shelves in October.
Last year, the Xiaomi 17 series attracted attention as the first devices to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
