Last week, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models in the Chinese market, but skipped the standard Xiaomi 18 model. However, newly revealed MIIT certification and details shared by leak expert Bald Panda confirm that the Xiaomi 18 model is still under development and will have impressive hardware specifications.

Expected to be released around December, the device aims to combine a compact design with a high-capacity battery and professional-level camera capabilities. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, this smartphone promises performance that will compete with other members of the series in both software and hardware.

Screen and Hardware Performance is Remarkable

The Xiaomi 18 will come with a 6.4-inch flat screen panel offering 1.5K resolution. Using the M11 panel technology, which the company also features in its latest Pro models, this device maintains its compact form without compromising image quality.

The hardware inside the device boasts all the power expected of a flagship. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor offers high processing capacity and efficiency, taking the device’s performance to the top. One of the most striking features of the Xiaomi 18 is its triple camera setup. According to leaks, the phone promises highly detailed photos with its 200-megapixel 1/1.28-inch main sensor. This main camera is accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens for wide-angle shots. On the telephoto camera side, the use of a 200-megapixel sensor again and the 3x optical zoom capability prove that the device will be in a very strong position in terms of photography.

Software and Release Date Expectations are Being Determined

On the software side, the Xiaomi 18 will come out of the box with the Android 17-based HyperOS 4 operating system. This modern software infrastructure will allow the system to run more smoothly and the AI-powered features to be used in the most efficient way. Regarding the launch process, Xiaomi is expected to follow its December launch strategy from previous years.
