With the new update released for Xbox consoles, Microsoft has introduced the features that users have been waiting for a long time. One of these innovations is the possibility of turning off the Quick Resume feature for certain games.

Quick Resume stands out as one of the most popular features of Xbox Series X and S consoles, allowing you to quickly switch between games and minimizing waiting time. However, this feature can sometimes cause unexpected performance problems in games that require online connection or multiplayer productions.

Quick Resume and Interface Customizations

Microsoft states that it has taken into account users’ feedback about performance drops after long periods of inactivity or errors in games that rely on internet connection. Now players can get a more stable experience by disabling this feature for specific games where they are experiencing problems.

The update is not limited to Quick Resume and also brings significant changes to the interface. Users can now create up to ten groups on their home screen, instead of two, and set custom colors for the interface.

Viewing game history is also made easier with this update. Additionally, support for using game controllers as mice has been added on the PC side, and up to three games can be pinned to the Jump back in and Most Recent lists.

New Era in Xbox Management

Microsoft also announced that it started testing its DLSS rival Auto SR technology on the Xbox Ally X handheld console. This move shows the company’s commitment to improving its software capabilities on the hardware side.

New Xbox manager Asha Sharma mobilized engineering teams to develop features such as Quick Resume shutdown and custom color options, which are in high demand by users. During the Sharma period, Game Pass prices were also reduced and it was decided to focus entirely on the Xbox name instead of the Microsoft Gaming brand.
