Will Tim Cook Be at the iPhone 18 Pro Event?

Following the management change at Apple, Tim Cook will not be present at the iPhone 18 Pro event. The new CEO, John Ternus, is taking the stage.

A major change is happening in the Apple world. As part of the Apple management change, Tim Cook is no longer the CEO.

The new CEO, John Ternus, is emerging as the new face of the company. Cook continues in his role as chairman of the board.

John Ternus Takes the Stage in the New Era

According to Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter, Tim Cook will not be present in the visual part of the iPhone 18 Pro event. Although Cook will physically watch the event at Apple Park, he will not appear on the screen.

The main reason for this decision is to ensure that John Ternus is accepted as the new leader of the company. The goal is to have Ternus at the forefront, especially during the transition to the foldable iPhone era.

Cook had already started this process with his farewell speeches earlier. The final payroll meeting, the memo sent to employees, and the WWDC opening keynote were segments of Cook’s farewell.

A reappearance at the event could have further extended this long farewell process. This distinction is important for strengthening the new CEO’s position.

This new period under Ternus’s leadership is seen as a critical step for Apple’s strategic goals. The company wants to clearly articulate the new CEO’s vision.

Office Changes and New Salary Structure

The transition process is not limited to public events. Significant physical changes are also taking place within the company.

Tim Cook is moving out of his office in Section 7 of Apple Park. Cook, who is moving to a new office, is handling the CEO position to John Ternus.

John Ternus is leaving his position alongside the hardware engineering teams. He is moving into the CEO office, taking up a place in the executive suite for the first time.

Cook and Ternus are expressing their mutual support during this transition period. In his latest memo to employees, Cook stated his desire to meet with them at Apple locations worldwide.

Cook’s salary package in his new role is also quite attractive. In addition to a base salary of $2 million, he has the potential to receive $45 million worth of restricted stock units in 2027.

The previous chairman, Art Levinson, earned less than $560,000 last year. This figure included salary, shares, and other benefits.

Cook’s high salary package indicates that he will continue to work actively in his new role. He is expected to maintain his presence within the company.

This transition process provides valuable clues about Apple’s future business strategies and management structure. The company is entering a new era with its new leadership team.

What do you think Tim Cook’s impact will be on Apple’s future as chairman of the board?
