WhatsApp Tests Its New Section for Android

WhatsApp Tests Its New Section for Android

WhatsApp has introduced the renewed ‘About’ section for its Android application in the beta version. The new design makes situation management easier with preview and fast privacy settings.

WhatsApp has introduced the renewed ‘About’ section developed for Android users in the beta version. This new interface, which comes with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.24.1 update, significantly facilitates the process of managing users’ status information. Now, users can check how the changes they make appear to others via the instant preview screen. In addition, making privacy settings directly accessible from the same panel collects personalization processes in a single center. This feature, which is currently available to a limited number of beta users, will reach a wider audience in the coming weeks.

  • WhatsApp has redesigned the ‘About’ section for Android users to combine all management tools.
  • The new interface allows users to instantly see profile updates via the preview window.
  • Privacy controls can be configured directly from the relevant screen, without users having to go to the settings menu.
  • The update is currently being tested by a limited number of users with the beta package version number 2.26.24.1.

WhatsApp Makes Its About Section Functional

WhatsApp is undergoing a comprehensive revision of the ‘About’ section with the aim of enabling users to manage their status information more effectively. Previously, it was necessary to switch between different menus to update this section, configure privacy settings and check how the result looks. Thanks to the new design, all these processes can be completed quickly on a single screen.

The new interface gathers processes in a single point to smooth the user experience.

Preview Screen Makes Control Easier

The most striking feature of the renewed interface is the live preview area added to the top of the screen. Thanks to this area, users can instantly confirm how their ‘About’ text or emojis are viewed by their friends. This feature provides great convenience, especially when making privacy preferences or adding status updates.

Scheduled Status Updates Are Protected

Users can continue to use the timed status features that came into our lives with previous updates on this new screen. 1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day or 1 week options, as well as special deadlines that can be extended up to a month, can be selected from the menu just below the text entry area. Thus, status information is automatically lost at the end of the specified period.

Privacy Settings Reduced to One Tap

The new design saves users time by integrating privacy controls directly into the ‘About’ editing screen. There is no longer a need to enter account settings to switch between ‘Everyone’, ‘My Contacts’, ‘Except My Contacts’ or ‘Nobody’ options. This direct access offers great practicality, especially for users who change situations frequently.

WhatsApp bases its design strategy on a more minimalist and accessible structure.

Beta Process Is Becoming Widespread Gradually

This feature, which is currently open to a limited audience using WhatsApp beta for Android 2.26.24.1 version, is gradually being activated for users who receive updates via the Google Play Store. This design, which is not yet available for general use, is expected to be included in stable versions in the coming weeks. Thanks to this practical interface offered by the application, users will now be able to complete their case management processes in much fewer steps.
