WhatsApp Develops New Filters for Archived and Locked Chats

WhatsApp Develops New Filters for Archived and Locked Chats

WhatsApp is working on new filters to organize archived and locked chats. Here are the details.

WhatsApp is preparing to add new filtering options to its platform so that users can manage their chats in a more systematic way. With the latest updates, it is aimed to make third-party messages more easily accessible, especially archived and locked chats. This feature, which is currently under development, aims to reduce interface clutter by improving navigation in the Chats tab. While WhatsApp allows users to keep their favorite chat lists at the top, it plans to offer a cleaner user experience by grouping less used lists under the “More” tab. These innovations modernize the general layout of the application with its expanding feature set.

  • WhatsApp is developing special filters for archived and locked chats.
  • The new feature makes the existing complex structure in the Chats tab more organized.
  • Users continue to use enhanced security protocols when accessing locked chats.
  • The filtering system in question is currently in the development phase and has not been opened to beta users yet.

WhatsApp Makes Chats More Orderly

WhatsApp continues to expand its listing system that allows users to personalize their chats. The feature of managing favorite lists, previously offered to iOS users, was highly appreciated.

Now, the company is working on automatic filtering options by expanding these editing capabilities to a wider scope. In this way, users can access not only the lists they have created manually, but also the chats automatically categorized by the system, with a single click.

Thanks to the new filters, users will be able to instantly find their valuable chats without having to search.

Archived and Locked Chats Will Be Accessed with Filters

In the current structure of the platform, archived and locked chats are located in the fixed sections at the top of the Chats tab. WhatsApp plans to remove these sections completely and turn them into standard chat list filters.
This strategic change simplifies the overall layout of the application and allows users to access these special notifications faster. The filter, developed especially for locked chats, promises to offer a practical solution without compromising security.

Security Measures Are Also Protected in Filters

Turning locked chats into a filter can increase users’ secrecy frenzy; But WhatsApp is very determined on this issue.

When users want to access this new filter, they will have to authenticate with security methods such as Face ID, Touch ID or password offered by their devices. This shows that the current protection standards of locked chats will be fully protected and user information will remain safe.

A special filter option will also be added for third-party chats.

Development Process Now Continues

Since this new filtering system of WhatsApp is currently in the development stage, it is not available for general use or beta testers. The company has not yet made an official statement about when this feature will come to the stable version.

However, once the testing processes are completed, it is expected that beta users will first be able to access these practical features, followed by users around the world.
