Qualcomm has officially announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series, a new flagship processor family that will change the dynamics of the mobile world. The new chipset, which transitions to a 2nm manufacturing process, promises a performance increase of up to 13% in the processor, 44% in the graphics unit, and 35% in the NPU (Nuclear Power Supply) handling AI processes. The 2nm Era Has Begun: What Does Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Bring?

Qualcomm’s newest flagship platform takes performance and power efficiency stability to the next level. Thanks to architectural updates in the Orion processor cores, the series increases processing power, focusing directly on high-end mobile gaming experiences, especially with a 44% jump in graphics performance. On the AI ​​side, the enhanced Hexagon NPU makes on-device generative AI models much smoother and more responsive.

The series includes the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 model as well as the even more demanding Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 version. Manufacturers are also pushing the performance bar to the highest level by opting for the Extreme version in their top models.

HONOR is unveiling its flagship HONOR Magic9 Pro Max model, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, at an event on September 28th. Meanwhile, Motorola has officially confirmed that its new signature model, the Motorola Signature 27, will join this series later this year.

OnePlus 16 and 185 FPS Target

On the OnePlus side, the focus is directly on pure gaming performance. The OnePlus 16 combines the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor with the new generation “Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel” architecture. vivo, iQOO and RedMagic

iQOO is including the Extreme version in its iQOO 16 and iQOO Pad Ultra models, which will be introduced in China on September 29th. This processor will also power other top-tier models under the vivo umbrella in the future. RedMagic, focusing on portable gamers, will take its place on the stage with its RedMagic 12Pro+ model, which will be introduced in October.
