Spotify is starting to use the AI Persona label to identify accounts that produce music with artificial intelligence. Here are the details of the new regulation.
Spotify is ushering in a new era in the music world by making accounts that create content through artificial intelligence systems more visible. The company announced that it will establish a special labeling system for these types of accounts.
The platform will add the AI Persona label to accounts that share music directly generated by artificial intelligence. These accounts will also be removed from Spotify’s individual recommendation lists.
New Verification Process for AI Identities
Spotify will use special tools to determine whether elements such as the name and image in an artist’s profile were generated by artificial intelligence. This process will involve both AI-assisted analysis and human review.
In cases where there is doubt about whether the artist’s identity is an AI creation, a continuous analysis will be applied. Until a final decision is made, the relevant profiles will be marked with the Likely AI Persona badge.
With this step, the company aims to make it easier for listeners to distinguish genuine artists. This strategy is also supported by the previously announced verified artist badge, designed for genuine artists.
Increased trust with the verified artist badge
The verified artist badge will not be automatically given to every artist on the platform. This badge is specifically designed for artists with balanced listener activity and engagement.
With the system’s implementation, it is expected that more than 99% of the artists users actively search for will be verified. Spotify aims to increase content transparency on the platform with these moves.
