Elon Musk collaborated with Anthropic, which he had previously criticized harshly, to use SpaceX’s Colossus data center. Here are the details.
Elon Musk has established a new partnership with Anthropic, which he has criticized harshly in the past and described as “bad”. After acquiring the xAI unit, SpaceX agreed with Anthropic, the developer of the Claude model, to share the processing power in the Colossus data center.
This agreement allows Anthropic to again increase the usage limits it has restricted in recent weeks. While the company doubled the Claude Code limits in Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, it also updated the API access limits.
Data Center Capacity and Strategic Change
It is thought that the main gain that SpaceX will gain from this collaboration is financial resources. Considering the company’s public offering plans later in the year, it is stated that this step aims to increase investor interest.
Colossus data center stands out with its 220,000 NVIDIA GPUs and 300 megawatts of energy capacity. It is estimated that the Grok model developed by xAI has difficulty consuming this huge processing power on its own and external resources are needed to use the capacity efficiently.
Musk had previously accused Anthropic of data theft and claimed that the company was against Western civilization. However, in his final statements, he stated that after his meetings with the Anthropic team, he was convinced that the Claude model was beneficial for humanity.
SpaceXAI Era Begins
Simultaneously with this process, Musk announced that the xAI unit was dissolved and will continue its activities under the name SpaceXAI. Thus, artificial intelligence products came directly under the umbrella of SpaceX.

SpaceX’s activities in space technologies and its new structure in the field of artificial intelligence are now united under one roof. What do you think about this unexpected collaboration and change in the company structure?
