Anthropic and SpaceX signed an important collaboration so that Anthropic, the developer of the Claude model, can use the Colossus 1 data center within xAI. As a result of this agreement, Anthropic announced that it is doubling existing speed limits and other relaxing restrictions for Claude Code users.

This arrangement with SpaceX allows Anthropic to leverage all the processing capacity in the Colossus 1 data center. This move will allow a new capacity of over 300 megawatts to be included in the system within the month.

Strategic Cooperation and New Capacity with SpaceX

Anthropic has recently made similar partnerships with Amazon and Google. The companies expressed interest in partnering with SpaceX to develop gigawatts of processing capacity in orbit as part of this collaboration.

SpaceX recently announced plans to launch a million satellites to create an orbital data center in documents submitted to the FCC.

This vision is part of a broader strategy to meet Anthropic’s future processing power needs.

Paid users on Claude Code’s Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans will immediately start enjoying the benefits of this agreement.

While Anthropic doubled the five-hour speed limits for Claude Code, it also completely removed the rush hour restrictions for Pro and Max users.

It is also stated that API speed limits for Claude Opus models have been increased significantly. These technical improvements will allow users to complete tasks that require higher processing power faster.

The Unexpected Rapprochement Between Elon Musk and Anthropic

SpaceX owner Elon Musk had previously harshly criticized Anthropic and made negative statements towards CEO Dario Amodei. However, Musk stated in his post on the X platform that he was impressed by the Anthropic team and that the Claude model will probably be successful.

In another statement he made about this cooperation, Musk put forward a remarkable condition. He stated that the company reserves the right to withdraw the provided processing power if Anthropic’s artificial intelligence takes actions that harm humanity.
