Xiaomi skipped HyperOS 3.2 and started testing HyperOS 3.3 based on Android 17. Performance increase, full integration with Apple devices and new HyperAI features are in our news.
Xiaomi is shifting gears on the software side. While Google’s work on Android 17 was still in the beta phase, an unexpected step came from Xiaomi. The company skipped HyperOS 3.2 and started focusing directly on HyperOS 3.3. This new version, which is currently being tested on certain flagship models, is not limited to just performance improvements; It also takes its integration with the Apple ecosystem and advanced artificial intelligence features to the next level.
Innovations in HyperOS 3.3 and Android 17 Integration
Xiaomi has made a significant change in its software strategy and prefers to refine the existing structure instead of switching to HyperOS 4. HyperOS 3.3, available with the Android 17 Developer Preview program, focuses on improving system stability.
According to the first tests, a performance increase of up to 30% is observed in the new version in terms of graphics processing speed and animation fluency. Especially thanks to the optimization of the “Hot Spot Instruction Compiler”, a more efficient working principle is adopted at the kernel level.
This update includes radical changes not only in terms of speed but also in terms of user experience.
Redesigned home screen icons and overhauls of more than 100 system animations make the interface feel much more modern. In addition, multi-window support for tablet users is enriched with new flexible windows in a 1:9 ratio.
HyperAI and Inter-Ecosystem Connectivity
One of the most striking points in Xiaomi’s new generation software is the “HyperConnect” technology. The company offers features that interact with Apple devices rather than creating a closed ecosystem.
Features such as file sharing, shared clipboard use and synchronization of galleries are now compatible with iPhone and iPad models. This stands out as one of the most important strategic moves that distinguishes Xiaomi from its competitors.
On the artificial intelligence side, the innovations offered under the name “HyperAI” include functions such as understanding screen content, real-time translation and summarizing voice recordings. Deeply integrated with Google Gemini, the system allows users to perform complex artificial intelligence tasks directly through the operating system.
Samsung, OPPO and Apple Front
While Xiaomi demonstrates ecosystem-oriented growth with HyperOS 3.3, its competitors are not standing idle. Samsung continues to maintain its 7-year update promise and user-friendly interface with the One UI 8 version.
On the OPPO side, ColorOS 16 draws attention with its stability in gaming performance, especially with its camera optimizations and “Trinity Engine”. Apple aims to maintain its leadership in privacy and hardware-software compatibility with iOS 19.
Xiaomi’s early start to Android 17 tests with HyperOS 3.3 shows the company’s desire to erase criticism about software support in the global market. Especially models such as Xiaomi 17, 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 15T Pro are among the first devices to experience this new process.
