Apple is organizing a special event for participants as part of WWDC 2026. Developers who attend the conference in person have the chance to watch The Mandalorian and Grogu movie at the Steve Jobs Theater.

According to the event calendar, the cinema screening will take place on June 9. Before the screening, a presentation will be made about the role of Apple technologies in cinema production.

Meeting of Technology and Cinema

WWDC 2026, Apple’s annual developer conference, focuses mainly on software updates such as iOS 27 and the renewed Siri. However, at this year’s event, the success of Apple Vision Pro in cinema production processes also holds a special place.

In his previous statements, the director of the film, Jon Favreau, drew attention to the contributions of Apple Vision Pro in framing IMAX shots and reducing costs. A special presentation will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater, which will open its doors at 22.00 on the evening of June 9, starting at 23.00. In this presentation, it will be detailed how Apple technologies are used in the production process of the cinema, and now a special guest whose name is not announced will take the stage.

Industry representatives predict that this special guest may be Jon Favreau due to his positive opinions about Apple Vision Pro. However, Apple states that another name from the production team may also appear on the stage.

Participation and Details

Developers who have the right to participate in WWDC 2026 will be able to RSVP for the theatrical release starting at 17.00 on June 4. However, due to the limited capacity of the Steve Jobs Theater, places will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis.

Apple had previously determined conference participants through a lottery system. People who could not participate in the raffle or did not receive an invitation can watch the movie in theaters across the United States since May 22, 2026.

The main event of WWDC 2026 will start with the opening image that will be published on June 8, and visionOS 27 will be introduced in this image.
