Special Design from Porsche for Apple’s 50th Anniversary

Special Design from Porsche for Apple’s 50th Anniversary

Porsche has announced that it will use a special Apple Computer design in IMSA races to celebrate Apple’s 50th anniversary. Here are the details.

Porsche announced that it will use a special design in the fourth leg of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as part of its new collaboration with Apple. In the race to be held on Sunday, May 3 at the Laguna Seca track, two Porsche 963 vehicles will appear with a special Apple Computer-inspired coating.

This special design was created to honor the 75th anniversary of Porsche Motorsport and the 50th anniversary of the founding of Apple. The visual work in question is a tribute to the Porsche 935 K3 model that appeared in the Le Mans races in the 1980 season.

Cooperation from Past to Present

Apple Music, Sports and Beats Vice President Oliver Schusser stated that their relationship with Porsche dates back to 1980. Schusser stated that the passion for innovation and creativity that has continued since that period when a Porsche racing vehicle carried the Apple logo for the first time continues to define today’s collaborations.

Porsche Motorsport Vice President Thomas Laudenbach emphasized that both brands are symbols of innovation developed by experts in Zuffenhausen, Weissach and Cupertino. The race, to be held at Laguna Seca Circuit, approximately 80 miles from the Apple Park campus, is scheduled to last two hours and 40 minutes.

Kévin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor will share the number 6 Porsche 963 car that will compete in the race. Julien Andlauer and Felipe Nasr will be behind the wheel in car number 7.

Championship Leadership and Race Details

Having won the opening races at Daytona and Sebring, the No. 7 cars currently leads the IMSA championship standings. Porsche also used an Apple Music-themed design in the Long Beach leg of the IMSA Championship, which took place earlier this year.

What do you think about the aesthetic approach of this special design, which brings together the world of automobiles and the world of technology?
