Sanction Scanner, founded six years ago in Istanbul and transformed into a global regtech player in dealing with financial crimes, has announced its comprehensive technological evolution and global growth strategy. Expanding its service portfolio far beyond just “sanction scanning software” to an AI-based integrated infrastructure (AI-Native Compliance, Risk & Fraud Infrastructure), the company will continue its journey under its new brand Complead.
Since its establishment, the company has provided the infrastructure for leading Turkish companies such as Türk Telekom, iyzico, Yemeksepeti, Togg, Midas and Hepsiburada, as well as global giants such as NN, Unity, Zurich, Loomis, Stellantis, Airhelp and the United Nations, and today serves over 800 corporate clients in more than 80 countries.
Sanction Scanner Was a Photograph, the Company Spread Beyond That Photograph
Making statements about the brand change and the company’s global vision, Complead Founder and CEO Fatih Coşkun stated that the main reason behind the change was the major technological leap the company experienced:
“The name Sanction Scanner was correct the day we were founded; because what we did was simply scanning sanction lists. But today, we create a risk profile of a client at the time of hiring, monitor the process flow in real time, detect the end beneficiaries, and prepare the document to be submitted to the regulator. So the name was a photograph of our company, and our company spread beyond that photograph. Now we offer not just a compliance software, but an integrated compliance, risk, and fraud infrastructure based on artificial intelligence.” Growth: New York
Following its London-based global structure, the company formalized its presence in the United States market, establishing a new legal entity and local team in New York to directly launch its US operations. Having already gained extensive market experience with key American clients such as APMEX, Hometap, and Candex, Complead will offer solutions to the increasing regulatory burden on US financial institutions and fintech companies with their AI-powered infrastructure. Coşkun stated the following regarding the US initiative: “The world’s largest financial compliance expenditure is made in the US. The dominant players in the market are cumbersome and expensive systems established decades ago.
Compliance groups are caught between the efficiency pressure of the governing boards and the expectation of explainability from regulators. We are building precisely at the intersection of these two requirements.”
A New Era in Artificial Intelligence: Explainable and Defendable Compliance
Complead, noting that the legacy rule-based software in the sector has reached the end of its lifespan, automatically resolves 77% of routine compliance events thanks to its developed AI agents and Fusion architecture. The system, which reduces false positive alarm rates by up to 97%, does not produce any decisions in control processes whose source cannot be shown or explained. Coşkun stated that under the Complead umbrella, Sanction Scanner technology will continue to provide uninterrupted service to existing customers without any interruption, contract change, or infrastructure migration obligation, “Our goal is not to be a suitable alternative; it is to be one of those who redefine how financial error prevention is done worldwide.”
Sanction Scanner has transformed into an AI-based end-to-end compliance, risk, and fraud infrastructure and renewed its brand as “Complead”. Complead, which crowned its US expansion with a New York company, is closing the section of its old rule-based compliance and fraud software.
