Samsung’s New 6K Resolution Gaming Monitor Introduced

In the gaming monitor market, manufacturers have recently been experiencing a transition from IPS panels to OLED technology. Although Samsung prefers QD-OLED technology in its models such as the Odyssey G81SF, it continues to use IPS panels in its high-performance products.
In line with this strategy, the South Korean technology giant introduced a new product offering 6K resolution. Odyssey G8 (G80HS)presented the model to the users. This new monitor distinguishes itself from other gaming-oriented displays on the market with the high resolution it offers.
Samsung Odyssey G8 (G80HS) technical details
Being the first and only 6K gaming monitor sold on the market, G80HS attracts attention with its technical features. The device supports AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync technologies, but with a 1 ms GtG response time, it performs slower than its OLED Competitors.
The display is at maximum when HDR10 and HDR10+ modes are activated. 350 nitsreaches the brightness level. Dual mode support, one of the most important features of the monitor, allows users to switch between 6K resolution and 3K resolution.
Thanks to this transition, the monitor offers a 165Hz refresh rate in 6K resolution, while this value increases to 330Hz in 3K resolution. The device’s ports include two USB 3.2 Type-A inputs, HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20).
It should also be noted that Samsung’s new 32-inch model does not include a USB-C port. Other technical features of the monitor include 1000:1 contrast ratio and 178 degree viewing angle.
