Nubia introduced the world’s first AI agent smartphone ahead of WAIC 2026. Here are the details of the device, which stands out with its autonomous mission management and advanced artificial intelligence features.
Nubia, ZTE’s sub-brand, officially unveiled its new flagship model, which it launched as the world’s first AI agent smartphone, before the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026) to be held in Shanghai between 17-20 July. The company positions this innovative device as not just a conceptual work, but a fully-fledged smartphone ready for mass production.
This device, which the technology world has been eagerly awaiting, promises advanced system integration that allows users to delegate complex digital tasks to artificial intelligence. With this move, Nubia aims to move the use of artificial intelligence on portable devices from the standard chatbot level to a proactive assistant level.
The Design of the New Smartphone Is Eye-catching
Nubia clearly revealed the design details of its new flagship with the images it shared on Weibo. The horizontally positioned pill-shaped camera module on the back of the device offers a contemporary and minimalist aesthetic by incorporating three different lenses. The Nubia logo is positioned steadily in the center of the phone.
Aiming to appeal to every user profile with different color options, the brand displays a technological stance without sacrificing simplicity in design.
With this new device, Nubia takes the use of artificial intelligence in portable devices to a completely new dimension.
Artificial Intelligence Supported Transaction Capabilities Are Being Developed
Nubia President Ni Fei stated that the company has been working on intelligence on a large-scale artificial agent model for a long time and that this model is now ready to be integrated into devices. The most striking feature of the device is that it can go beyond simple text writing or question answering tasks.
Thanks to ByteDance’s Doubao assistant, the phone can analyze natural language and manage complex tasks simultaneously on multiple applications without user intervention. This means that the device has system-level intelligence and can execute daily workflows autonomously.
The artificial intelligence assistant will now not only respond but will be able to perform active processes on the device.
A New Era Begins in the Industry
While artificial intelligence-focused features are increasingly increasing in the mobile technology market, Nubia’s offering of this “agentic” experience could set a new standard for its competitors.
Although the technical hardware features of the device have not been fully disclosed yet, it is known that Nubia developed this flagship as a commercial product for the end user, not a prototype. Hours before the WAIC 2026 fair starts, cutting experts are closely following how this artificial intelligence will transform the user experience.
