Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Donald Trump Hold Critical Talk on Artificial Intelligence

Trump, Meeting, Artificial Intelligence, Concern, Data

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang received an unexpected phone call while on stage at the All-In Summit in Los Angeles. This call was recorded as a significant moment at the center of discussions on the development of artificial intelligence. The call came from US President Donald Trump. Huang put the call on the speakerphone and let the attendees listen.

Huang was on stage with Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis, David Friedberg, and David Sacks. During the call, Trump jokingly alluded to Huang’s technical skill with the speakerphone.

Debate on the Pace of AI Development

Huang and investors at the event were discussing Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei’s call to slow down the pace of AI development. This view, supported by figures like Elon Musk and Sam Altman, shows that there are different approaches in the field.

Trump took a clear stance against these calls to slow down development during a phone call. He argued that such advancements give ammunition to those who want to hinder economic growth.

Trump stated that they would not allow progress in the field of artificial intelligence to be halted. Calling this a deception, Trump emphasized that the US must maintain its leadership in this area.

Huang, supporting Trump’s approach, stated that he agreed with him. The crowd at the event reacted with applause following this dialogue.

Trump and his allies argue that the public backlash against data center construction is an externally orchestrated strategy. Figures like Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan are among those supporting this view.

Public Concerns Regarding Data Centers

However, a recent Gallup poll shows that public concerns are based on more concrete grounds. 70% of respondents oppose the construction of data centers in their areas.

More than half of the respondents cited the negative impact of these facilities on environmental resources as their primary concern. Approximately 20% expressed concern about a decline in quality of life and increased cost of living.

While acknowledging concerns about data centers, Trump argued that the sector should not be stopped. He stated that caution was necessary but that the industry would not be hindered.

During his meeting with Huang, he expressed his satisfaction at being in agreement on this issue. He reiterated the message that the US should remain in the lead in the technological race.

This high-level dialogue in the technology world provides valuable clues about the future of AI policies. The obstacles ahead and the stability between growth goals seem likely to be discussed further in the coming period.

Huang managed to make Trump’s voice heard throughout the hall by searching for a microphone on stage. This moment showcased the communication between top figures in the technology world.
