New Camera-less AirPods Pro Model May Arrive in 2026

Apple is preparing to release a new camera-less AirPods Pro model by the end of 2026. Here’s what’s known about the new model, codenamed B790.

The planned release date for Apple’s highly anticipated camera-equipped AirPods Pro model appears to have been postponed to 2027. However, the tech giant plans to release a new update for the AirPods series by the end of 2026.

The autumn months are traditionally known as a busy period for Apple product. launches The company is preparing to add a new product to its current range by the end of this year.

New Model Codenamed B790 is on the Way

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg stated in his press release that the camera-equipped AirPods Pro is not expected to be released in 2026. In assessments made in May, it was stated that this model, which is in the design validation testing stage, is too late for the 2026 timeline and that 2027 is a more realistic target.

It is emphasized that Apple is working on different versions in its internal processes and that a model codenamed B790 is a stronger candidate for 2026. This model is being developed as an alternative to the B798 version, which has camera hardware.

It is stated that the B790 device is at a more advanced stage in the development process and has found its place in the iOS 27 code. This device, planned to be released in 2026 in Apple’s internal roadmap, is expected to be a camera-less enhancement of the current AirPods Pro model.

Camera Technology and Apple Vision

The idea of adding a camera or infrared sensor to AirPods Pro models seems directly related to Apple’s smart device strategy. As with the Apple Glass project that the company has been working on for a long time, these sensors are intended to help the Apple Intelligence system perceive the outside world.

While camera-equipped headphones don’t offer a direct landscape display, they could provide users with a new way to respond to queries. In addition to voice feedback via Siri, notifications received through an iPhone or Apple Watch could be a visual complement to this technology.

What do you think about Apple’s new hardware strategy?
