New BMW X5 and Fully Electric iX5 Introduced

The new BMW X5 and electric iX5 models, developed with BMW’s new design language Neue Klasse, were introduced in full detail. Here are the technical specifications and design innovations.

German automotive giant BMW officially unveiled its iconic SUV models X5 and its fully electric version iX5 at its event today. Shaped with the “Neue Klasse” ideology, BMW’s new design language, the vehicles attract attention with their X-shaped LED lighting and innovative front grille structure that reflect the brand’s future design vision.

The new generation X5 models, offered to users with both internal combustion and electric engine options, take the competition in the luxury SUV segment to the next level with their technological equipment and improved performance data. These new vehicles, which are highly anticipated globally, represent a major transformation in terms of design and engineering.

  • The new X5 models embody the Neue Klasse ideology, BMW’s new design language.
  • The X5 40 xDrive version is launched with a 3.0-liter engine producing 394 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque.
  • The plug-in hybrid X5 50e AWD model offers a range of 71 kilometers in fully electric mode.

New Design Language Makes a Difference in the Interior

BMW prefers the Neue Klasse era console structure, which is both appreciated by users and subject to various criticisms, in its new generation SUV models. This new generation console, which brings together three different digital screens in the interior under one roof, offers the driver a much more minimalist and digitally focused experience. The cockpit, where physical buttons are reduced, creates a contemporary and spacious atmosphere.

Thanks to the simplified cockpit structure, drivers can access all information much faster.

Performance and Efficiency Balance is Reestablished

The engine options in the new BMW X5 series are quite comprehensive. X5 40 and xDrive models, which offer a four-wheel drive system, are equipped with 3.0-liter turbo-powered six-cylinder units.

This system produces 394 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to reach 97 km/h in just 5 seconds. In addition, the 48V mild hybrid boost offers an environmentally friendly driving experience by optimizing fuel consumption.

Thanks to its powerful engine options, the new X5 aims to satisfy performance enthusiasts.

Hybrid Technology Solve the Range Problem

The “X5 50e AWD” plug-in hybrid version, one of the most attractive members of the product range, combines its internal combustion engine with a 194 horsepower electric motor. The battery pack with a capacity of 26.5 kWh allows you to travel up to 71 kilometers in fully electric mode for urban use.

While this feature benefits from the power of the internal combustion engine on long journeys, it enables a completely silent and emission-free driving in daily use.
