The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti SUPERIOR graphics card prototype, which Nvidia never offered for sale, appeared on eBay. Here are the features of the card and the reason for cancellation.
A rare engineering example of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti AMAZING graphics card, which Nvidia never officially announced or offered for sale, has come to light. This prototype, listed on eBay, stands out as a model that was developed to fill the performance gap between the RTX 2080 Ti and Titan RTX, but was canceled at the last stage.
Nvidia launched the RTX 2060 AMAZING, RTX 2070 SUPERIOR and RTX 2080 GREAT models during the Turing architecture period. However, a GREAT variant was never introduced for the RTX 2080 Ti, and this model remained the top GeForce graphics card, positioned just below the Titan RTX.
Technical details of GeForce RTX 2080 Ti SUPER
According to the shared information, this prototype card comes with 4,608 CUDA cores, 12 GB GDDR6 memory and 384-bit memory data. These specifications offer a more powerful structure than the standard RTX 2080 Ti model with 4,352 CUDA cores, 11 GB memory and 352-bit data bus.
The number of CUDA cores of the card is at the same level as Titan RTX, the flagship of the period. While it is stated in the eBay ad that the internal code name of the card is PG151, it is stated that the device requires special developer drivers to work and Windows 10 must be run in test mode.

Since standard Nvidia drivers do not recognize this card, hardware ID arrangements must be made in the driver documents. The design of the prototype also differs from other RTX 20 series models of the time.

Why was it cancelled?
The card, which uses a glossy front surface and black backplate, has the phrase RTX 2080 AMAZING directly on it. This strengthens the possibility that the card may be part of a different verification project developed after the RTX 2080 SUPERIOR model.

According to the name description, RTX 2080 Ti was AMAZING, but it was shelved because its performance was too close to Titan RTX. It is stated that only a few samples of the card identified as Titan Killer were produced, and the sample found is an engineering sample with a serial number that is very close to the retail version.
