Insomniac Games announced that Marvel’s Wolverine will run at 60 FPS with ray tracing support in default mode on PlayStation 5.
Insomniac Games has shared new technical details about the highly anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine game. The studio announced that the game will run at 60 FPS and with ray tracing technology enabled, even on the base PlayStation 5 console.
Chief Technology Officer Mike Fitzgerald stated that they have been working towards this goal from the beginning of the development process. This performance level will be offered to players as a default mode for the first time in the studio’s games.
Enhanced Visual Experience and Environmental Interaction
Unlike the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, Marvel’s Wolverine offers a wider and more natural atmosphere. Set in the wilds of Canada and regions like Madripoor, the game features dense vegetation that reacts to wind and character movements.
Physical interactions in the game world are also quite advanced. Reflecting the protagonist’s destructive nature, many objects in the environment can physically react flawlessly and shatter.
Gameplay Features and New Content
Insomniac Games also confirmed several mechanics that will increase the game’s replayability. Players will be able to return to previously completed missions to collect missed collectibles.
Whiskey bottles among the collectibles contribute to character development, while material chests contain the resources needed to unlock new costumes. Nightmare Doors, described as a reflection of Logan’s dark intentions, offer players unique experiences.
Unlike the Spider-Man series, the game will bring the New Game Plus mode directly to players on launch day. What are your thoughts on this game, which will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 15th?
