Lenovo Introduces Affordable 240Hz Curved Gaming Monitor

Lenovo introduced the new Legion 34W-2C gaming monitor, which stands out with its 240Hz refresh rate and 34-inch curved screen. Here are the details.

Lenovo has launched the 34W-2C curved ultrawide gaming monitor, a new addition to its Legion series, in the Chinese market. Priced at 1,799 yuan on JD.com, the device promises a high-performance gaming experience.

The new monitor stands out with its technical specifications specifically designed for gamers. Lenovo has opted for a hardware structure targeting both PC and console gamers in this model.

Technical Specifications and Screen Performance

The Legion 34W-2C features a 21:9 VA panel offering a 3440 x 1440 WQHD resolution. The 1500R curvature ensures that the outer edges of the screen remain within the viewing angle, providing a more immersive experience.

Thanks to VA panel technology, the monitor offers a 4000:1 contrast ratio and reaches a typical brightness of 400 nits. The device provides a wider dynamic range in visual content with DisplayHDR 400 support.

On the gaming-focused performance side, the 240Hz refresh rate stands out. Users can benefit from adjustable overdrive options up to 1ms GTG reaction time and activate the 0.5ms MPRT mode with the Esports profile.

To prevent screen tearing, AMD FreeSync Premium and VESA AdaptiveSync technologies are included in the device. Additionally, there are gaming tools such as an on-screen crosshair, refresh rate counter, and dark area enhancement mode.

In terms of color accuracy, the monitor offers 10-bit color depth, covering 99% of the sRGB color gamut and 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut. To protect eye health, the device uses hardware-based low blue light filter, Eyesafe 2.0, and TÜV Rheinland certified DC dimming technology.

Connectivity Options and Ergonomics

The device features two HDMI 2.1 FRL ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 input. These ports support a 240Hz refresh rate at 3440 x 1440 resolution, ensuring full compatibility with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

The ergonomic stand design allows users to adjust the height by 135mm, swivel up and down by 30 degrees, and tilt between -5 and 22 degrees. Additionally, it can be used with third-party monitor arms thanks to a 100 x 100mm VESA mounting bracket.

Lenovo recently launched a new budget-friendly tablet with an 8-inch screen and another 240Hz gaming monitor with a 27-inch curved VA panel. This new 34-inch model adds a strong alternative to the series for gamers seeking a large screen experience.

How much do you think a 240Hz refresh rate on a 34-inch curved monitor changes the gaming experience?
