The technical specifications and technological equipment of Ioniq V, Hyundai’s new electric model developed specifically for the Chinese market, have been announced.
New information has come to light about Hyundai’s new electric model, Ioniq V, which was introduced at the Beijing Auto Show last month and developed only for the Chinese market. Homologation documents submitted to Chinese authorities confirm important details about the vehicle’s technical specifications and performance data.
The model in question is one of the 20 new vehicles that Hyundai plans to launch in the Chinese market in the next five years. With this strategy, the brand aims to increase its sales figures in the region.
Technical Specifications and Performance
According to data shared by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Ioniq V will be available with two different single-engine configuration options. These engines will have power outputs of 188 horsepower and 225 horsepower.
The vehicle’s entry-level 188 horsepower engine is not included in the Ioniq 5 models offered by Hyundai in other markets. This value even falls behind the 201 horsepower of the brand’s Elantra N Line model in the US market.

800 volt charging architectureThe vehicle is equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries produced by CATL. It is stated that the model, whose maximum speed is limited to 165 km/h, offers a range of over 600 kilometers according to the CLTC cycle.
Similar in size to the Ioniq 6, the Ioniq V has a length of 4,900 mm and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. Its exterior design draws attention with sharp lines, coupe-shaped ceiling structure, frameless doors and V-shaped wheels.
Technology Focused Interior
The interior of the vehicle includes a 27-inch ultra-thin 4K screen, developed in line with the expectations of Chinese users. This system is supported by the Cyber Eye head-up display and nebula-themed ambient lighting.

The infotainment system is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 cockpit chip and is enriched with features from Baidu and Volcano Engine technologies. Additionally, in order to stand out in the highly competitive Chinese market, the vehicle also features Momenta-supported Level 2-plus driving assistant.
This model, developed with Hyundai’s “global quality plus Chinese wisdom” strategy, seems to remain exclusive to the Chinese market for now. Range-extending hybrid and dual-motor versions are expected to be added to the product range in the future.
Do you think this design of Hyundai, which is exclusive to the Chinese market, would attract attention in other countries as well?
